Greece Enters the Black Hole

15 Aug

In most other instances, a 6.2% contraction in a national economy would be catastrophic – but we’re talking about Greece in this instance.  Despite the lies and subterfuge of the Communists in the EU, the market is working to sort out Greece’s (and ultimately the EU’s) economic challenges.

Germany will not bankroll the EU folly any longer, Spain will be the next Greece and Italy is not far behind.  France is unsustainable as well.

The sooner the laggard statelets in the EU admit the obvious, exit the ill-conceived EU/Euro scam and revert to their traditional floating currencies, the sooner they can start working their way out of the mess they created.

Chances are Germany will pull out before Greece – regardless, there will be civil strife, and possibly war again in Europe again. And again the misery will be the direct result of failed and false Socialist philosophy and Communist influence.

Baird Reverses Decison To Fund Terror Group…Just in Time

15 Aug

Canadian bureaucrats were very nearly successful in funneling millions in “aid” to Omar Khadr’s family terror business known as “Canadian Relief for Syria”…

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird has abruptly reversed course on his plan to get badly needed medical supplies into Syria by way of a Canadian aid organization.

Just days after traveling to Jordan to announce some $2-million in aid, Mr. Baird confirmed Wednesday that the government will not be providing the money to the group known as Canadian Relief for Syria.

….“It’s just a medical centre.”

Right –

Because no one is more concerned about the welfare of their fellow human beings than the Khadr Clan...

Earlier in McLean’s….

Canada is giving two million dollars to a group collecting money on behalf of a charity whose Pakistan office was once run by alleged al-Qaeda financier Ahmed Said Khadr, the late father of Guantanamo Bay detainee Omar Khadr.

NYT (Columnist) Endorses Ryan for Moderates…

15 Aug

It is unclear how the editors at NYT let this one slip in….

Against this backdrop, Romney’s choice of Ryan looks a lot like Ryan’s own policy positioning: It was more politically risky than the alternatives, but it was also more responsible. As a presidential candidate, Romney picked his running mate the way he probably made hiring decisions as a businessman. Out of an array of qualified applicants, he picked the man who’s done the most impressive and important work.

What’s Red and Green and All Over?

15 Aug

All of the challenges in the Eurozone are the result of communist policies being forced on the European people.  The current economic challenges in Europe are the result of Soviet style economic “planning”, centrally dictated monetary policy and an abandonment of basic, market driven decision making – all in an attempt to save the ill-conceived and flawed notion of a “common market” in Europe.

In addition to the insane economic policies that have driven the PIGS to bankruptcy, the unrealistic employment and production regulations that have driven youth unemployment to nearly 25%, the EU has continued to dig itself even deeper with nonsensical environmental and so-called “climate” legislation.  The subsidies to “Green Energy” and the penalties imposed on industry in the form of “Carbon Dioxide” taxes have served to drive jobs and business to China, India and South America.

It didn’t work in the old USSR, it hasn’t worked in Europe, and it won’t work in the USA… Nigel Farage sums it up nicely:

Green economy “mega trend” sweeping planet, Joe Oliver told

A $6.5 trillion global green energy revolution is sweeping the planet and threatening to leave behind economies such as Canada that are too heavily focused on fossil fuel development, Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver was warned in internal federal briefing notes.

It is unclear where the federal bureaucrats see empirical benefits of this taxpayer funded “mega-trend” – other than, perhaps the expansion of their already hugely wasteful bureaucracy….

“Green Energy” subsidies have contributed hugely to the economic collapse across the EU – wisely Canada will not “invest” in bailing out the Euros …

It’s not necessary for Canada to use Canadian resources to help solve the European problem, given that the European countries are among the wealthiest in the world.”

Biden v. Ryan

15 Aug

Can’t wait for the debate...

In a speech today in Virginia, Vice President Joe Biden seemed to forget we’re in the 21st century:

What are the odds Biden gets turfed at the DNC.

Paul Ryan: The Natural

15 Aug

From the Weekly Standard

Look out, America. Paul Ryan is not just a policy wonk—he’s a really good retail politician.

… the crowd in the Lakewood High School gymnasium cut him off, pounded the bleachers, and offered a full 22 seconds of applause. But they weren’t done yet—an older man in the crowd stood up, pointed at Ryan and screamed “Hey look, no teleprompter!” The crowd roared in approval, not because it was gratuitous swipe at the president, but because they were so grateful that Ryan was providing not just competing policy vision to Obama, but a substantive rhetorical alternative. And they clearly liked what they were hearing….

Beware the Rise of the Right Wing Youth…

A Romney first: over 40% of youth vote back him

Zogby speculates that Romney’s selection of 42-year-old Rep. Paul Ryan helped turn more younger voters to him. “It could be his youthfulness,” said Zogby of Ryan. Plus, he said, more younger voters are becoming libertarian, distrustful of current elected officials and worried that they are going to get stuck with the nation’s looming fiscal bill.

“They want change,” said Zogby.

And Hope, apparently…

Or are they just young racists?

Revenge of the Nerds: Gates goes Low Flush…

Bill Gates demonstrates why someone who develops one killer o/s should just sit back and collect the licensing fees…

Bill Gates kicks off search for toilet of the future

“The flush toilets we use in the wealthy world are irrelevant, impractical and impossible for 40 percent of the global population, because they often don’t have access to water, and sewers, electricity, and sewage treatment systems.”

Pure Genius…

A little like a cart before a horse – 40% of the global population could use electricity, running water and medical care first – they’ll happily go without flush toilets in the meantime.
