Karma is a Bitch – Ft. McMurray

5 May

This week’s fire in Ft McMurray, tragic as it is, provides some real insight into the gulf that divides the productive and non-productive parts of Canadian society.

The productive part of Canada are the oil workers, farmers, construction workers and private sector who do all of the working and paying in this country. The unproductive part is the left – the public sector, SJWs, Climate Alarmists – supporters of Elizabeth May, Rachel Notley and Justin Trudeau, who do all the spending, bitching and little of the work.

The euphoria of the schadenfreude the left exhibits over the loss of property and livelihoods of the people of Ft. McMurray, a place that represents everything about Canada they hate, is on full display.  From former NDP candidate Tom Moffat, suggesting the disaster is “Karma” for the evil oilsands business on Twitter, to the deranged comments by Elizabeth May that the fire is a result of climate change – these leftist seem to see the Ft. McMurray fire as a win for their side.

While the productive part of society raises money for the victims, gets ready to rebuild and takes care of the housing and feeding of the evacuees, doing the things the left talk about – May, Moffat and rest of the left – which, for the past 20 years, has been almost entirely on oilsands related economic activity to fund their destructive pursuits – wallow in a sea of self righteous hubris with a “told you so” attitude that has no basis in fact or science

Ft. McMurray will rebuild – and as the reality of the world’s need for fossil fuels becomes clear – prosper – No thanks to left, or frankly our various government agencies who have proven to be next to useless.

Karma is a bitch – as the left will discover in time.

For those who think Ft. McMurray is Gaia’s way of punishing oilsands workers, here’s some science..

If women ran the world, we’d still be living in the trees…

Intuition is thinking without thinking…And Women are really good at….

Not Thinking?….

A pioneering study has shown for the first time that the brains of men and women are wired up differently which could explain some of the stereotypical differences in male and female behaviour, scientists have said.

“These maps show us a stark difference – and complementarity – in the architecture of the human brain that helps to provide a potential neural basis as to why men excel at certain tasks, and women at others,” said Ragini Verma, professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Because the female connections link the left hemisphere, which is associated with logical thinking, with the right, which is linked with intuition, this could help to explain why women tend to do better than men at intuitive tasks, she added.

Intuition is thinking without thinking. It’s what people call gut feelings. Women tend to be better than men at these kinds of skill which are linked with being good mothers,” Professor Verma said.

Men are Logical, Women are Emotional… who knew.

Statement from the Government of Canada regarding the repeal of (Australian) carbon tax

Our government knows that carbon taxes raise the price of everything, including gas, groceries, and electricity. Prime Minister Abbott has said that, in Australia, the repeal of the carbon tax will reduce the average household’s cost of living by (in Australian dollars) $550 a year, take $200 off household power bills and $70 off gas bills.

“Our government has reduced greenhouse gas emissions while protecting and creating Canadians jobs – greenhouse gas emissions are down since 2006, and we’ve created 1 million net new jobs since the recession – and we have done this without penalising Canadian families with a carbon tax.”

America’s Youth – Getting What They Voted For

Good and Hard…

…insurance costs are soaring for the young. In 45 states and Washington, D.C., young adults will find that their premiums have risen since Obamacare’s implementation, according to an October study by the conservative Heritage Foundation. And in most states, we’re not talking about the kind of slight increases that could be offset by forgoing a couple of lattes a month. Instead, these increases are enough to make young adults squeeze in another roommate — or maybe even move back in with Mom and Dad.

Obamacare requires better coverage than in the past, which also explains the higher premium. But young adults don’t need the added costs. In Arizona, the average monthly premium for a 27-year-old is expected to soar to $261.87 a month, up from $102. It’s the same story in other states, including Georgia (where monthly premiums are increasing by $165), Illinois ($133), Michigan ($138) and Vermont ($216).

Just how credible are these climate models?

6 Nov

They’re Not

In other words, over the past third of a century—the period with the greatest amount of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions—the behavior of the real world (i.e., reality) falls far below the average expectation of climate models and, in fact, is clearly inconsistent with the range of model results. Less than 2.5 percent of model runs show that global warming is really global luke warming to the degree that real-world observations indicate.

Basically, the models don’t work.

This reality ought to be enough to stop the anti-fossil fuel (via carbon dioxide emission restrictions) crusaders in their tracks.

But it won’t…

Cheating the Other Guy and Passing the Savings on to You…

Because like any other Ponzi, this particular welfare program Obamacare needs an influx of new registrants, especially young ones, to keep the funding coming in and succeed. Otherwise, not even all central bank chairmen getting to work around the globe creating wealth effects for a few hundred thousand people, or all false-flag, YouTube justified diversionary wars around the world, will do much to deflect attention from how the supposedly crowning achievement of Obama’s two-term presidential career has disintegrated before everyone’s eyes.

…a far deeper problem with Obamacare than the ongoing website debacle, is that the targeted core constituency of Obamacare, young people under 35, are nowhere near the fastest enrolling population group, with that distinction instead going to the oldest group, people 55 and over, which also happens the be the biggest use of funds within Obamacare. From the WSJ:

Hope and Change You Can Believe In…

The American Homeownership Dream is officially dead. Long live the New Normal American Dream: Renting.” What happened since then is that the American Dream briefly became a full-blown nightmare when in Q3 mortgage rates exploded, pummeling the affordability of housing, and ground any new mortgage-funded transactions to a complete halt (don’t believe us – just ask the tens of thousands of mortgage brokers let go by the TBTF banks in the past 6 months). Which is why it was not at all surprising to find that the just updated Q3 homeownership rate has remained stuck at 65.1%: the lowest since 1995.

Andrew Klaven…

…Obama and many of our journalists were trained in the post-modern academy where they were taught that there is no such thing as moral truth but only culturally inculcated narratives. In such a world, the moral narrative that can be drummed into the head of the populace is the truth that wins. Convincing people that a good has been achieved is the same as achieving it.

Which Apparently Happened Today…

Today, one of America’s best-known welfare programs with 47.6 million participants or 15% of the total population, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program also known as “foodstamps” or EBT, is due for a substantial haircut: beginning Friday, there will be a phased in $5 billion reduction (6% of the program) for the 12 month period starting November 1st 2013. So what happens next?

The World Turns

Tony Abbott will become Australia’s Prime Minister. I’d like to second John O’Sullivan’s wise words on Mr Abbott’s conservatism: we’re not talking about a Cameronesque trimmer and opportunist here.

…it’s worth noting that Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Britain now all have prime ministers to the right of the US president…
